1.12 billion RON profits for BRD – Groupe Societe Generale in 2008

BRD – Groupe Societe Generale had a net profit of 1.12 billion RON, 48% more than in 2007, a press release of the institution informs. Adding the profit obtained from selling the group’s participation in the Asiban insurance company, the profit grows to 1.35 billion RON – some 367 million Euros.

The net banking income was 3.19 billion RON (869 million Euros), 27% more than at the end of 2007. The bank offered credits worth over 34 billion RON (a 27% growth, compared to 2007), natural persons representing 48% of the destinations. BRD opened 124 new branches and invested 64 million Euros.
