19.84% of Romanian voters showed up in general elections by 2.00 p.m. on Sunday
Turnout at national level in Romania’s general elections stood at 19.84% at 2.00 p.m. on Sunday, according to estimations of the Central Electoral Office (BEC). Turnout in Bucharest stood at 15.85%.
Average turnout in rural areas was 22.34% by 2.00 p.m., compared to 18.02% in urban areas.
The Bucharest Electoral Office also showed turnout by districts in Romania’s capital city:
- District 1 – 18.50%
- District 2 – 18.63%
- District 3 – 13.46%
- District 4 – 14.64%
- District 5 – 15.41%
- District 6 – 15.50%
Counties with highest turnout:
- Teleorman – 28.08%
- Vrancea – 25.56%
- Ilfov – 25.04%
- Neamt – 24.97%
- Dambovita – 24.89%
Counties with lowest turnout:
- Timis – 14.11%
- Covasna – 14.99%
- Arad – 15.26%
- Sibiu – 15.62%
- Maramures – 16.52%
