4.87% of Romanian voters showed up in general elections by 10 a.m. on Sunday
Turnout at national level in Romania’s general elections stood at 4.87% at 10.00 a.m. on Sunday, according to estimations of the Central Electoral Office (BEC). Turnout in Bucharest stood at 3.66%.
Average turnout in rural areas was 5.58% by 10.00 a.m., compared to 4.36% in urban areas.
The Bucharest Electoral Office also showed turnout by districts in Romania’s capital city:
- District 1 – 4.15%
- District 2 – 4.34%
- District 3 – 3.2%
- District 4 – 3.57%
- District 5 – 3.54%
- District 6 – 3.39%
Counties with highest turnout:
- Teleorman – 8.38%
- Ilfov – 7.65%
- Dambovita – 7.06%
- Giurgiu – 6.99%
- Vrancea – 6.79%
Counties with lowest turnout:
- Covasna – 3.06%
- Timis – 3.29%
- Sibiu – 3.29%
- Maramures – 3.34%
- Bistrita-Nasaud – 3.59%
