The government decided to declassify the last documents in the 1989 Romanian Revolution
I decided to declassify the last documents in the 1989 Revolution, PM Emil Boc announced after the government’s meeting on Tuesday. He said that the documents will be published in the Official Journal.
The information included in the files can no longer prejudice national security, the country’s defense, public order or to other persons. This is an important step and the aim is to reveal all documents in the Revolution, so the truth can be validated.
The government decided on February 10, at the request of the Defense ministry to declassify more documents related to the 1989 revolution. At the moment, the ministry said that 7617 files of the documents were declassified. On January 15, the ministry declassified 1989 documents containing 2684 files related to the revolution.
