Labour Ministry state secretary: State employees' salaries were reduced only where credit managers misinterpreted the Salary Law
Romanian Health Ministry state secretary Valentin Mocanu declared on Tuesday, February 16 2010, that the salaries of Romanian state employees have not been cut as a result of the new unique income scheme enforcement. Where the cuts did happen, Mocanu argues that it was the credit managers who misinterpreted the Salary Law.
According to Mocanu, „there is no governmental double-language regarding staff re-listing”, and „The Government’s representatives claiming that the salaries will not be reduced after the enforcement of the law are supported by the law itself”.
„If there are cases where salaries have decreased, this is definitely because of credit managers’ misinterpretation of the law and we will intervene in these situations”, the official added.
