A Romanian movie ranked 3 in most appreciated historical movies in the world

Mihai Viteazul, the famous movie directed by Romanian Sergiu Nicolaescu that appeared in 1970 occupies the third position in a rank made by Internet Movie Data Base, Romanian newspaper Ziarul de Iasi reads. The movie was Romania’s proposal for the 1972 Oscar at the „Best foreign movie” category.

Mihai Viteazu has a 8.4 mark on IMDB of 2,880 votes and is outranked by Schindler’s List and Das Boot.

The movie was made with about 5,000 people, with a scenario written by Titus Popovici and occupies the 6th position at the Biography category. Nicolaescu declared that he is surprised by the rank his movie received. However, not considered a very trustworthy movie rank website.
