Romania's current account deficit dropped by 72.2% in the first ten months, to 3.95 billion euro
Romania’s current account deficit dropped in the first ten months of the year by 72.2% compared to the similar period, last year to 3.95 billion euro, Romania’s National Central Bank informs. The decrease rhythm moderated in October after in the first nine months of the year it dropped by 74.6%.
Romanians living abroad sent home 31% less money than during January -October 2008 period. Foreign direct investments totaled in the first ten months 3.72 billion euro compared to 7.66 billion euro in the previous year, covering 94.1% of the current account deficit.
