Adrian Nastase, ex-Romanian PM: Traian Basescu is lying. He invited me over to his home to justify himself
Traian Basescu „invited me over to his HOME (could I have gone there without his invitation?) to justify himself and to be told that he does not command the prosecutors”, Adrian Nastase (PSD), ex-Romanian PM, wrote on his personal blog. The Social-democrat claims that Basescu „has made told certain lies on Realitatea FM”, when he said that Nastase went over to his place „because he wanted to find a solution to close the case”.
„During the well-known PSD meeting from Confort Hotel, Traian Basescu called me on my mobile to tell me that he is not behind the action taken against me”, Adrian Nastase writes. He mentions that „I had accused him publicly that, using Daniel Morar and his public statements, he triggered the political police measures taken against me (DNA taking notice on November 4, 2005, etc)”.
Nastase said that Basescu „invited me over to his HOME (could I have gone there without his invitation?) to justify himself and to be told that he does not command the prosecutors. In my turn, I told him that I did not believe him and we parted and I still keep my opinion that he sent the respective instructions through intermediaries”.
Adrian Nastase claims that Basescu is „desperate” and that he „is running away from every discussion addressing his presidency mandate”, noting that „I will not fall in the trap that he wants to set”.
„A last comment: this ex-president leaving the scene is ugly”, Adrian Nastase concludes.
