Slovaks build a wall against gypsies, isolating some 1,200 people in Ostrovany village, East Slovakia. The concrete wall measures 150 meters length, 2 meters high and was about 1,300 euro, AFP informs. A 25 year old gypsies, Lucia Kucharova declared that this is a discriminatory act.

The decision stirred controversy among the Rroma community and defenders of the human rights. Revak, mayor of the village avoids the subject, and declared that the wall is not a discrimination but it impedes gypsies of stealing.

On the other hand, gypsies complain that everything is expensive and their unemployment help totals only 150 euro. In Slovakia, there are 89,000 gypsies, AFP informs but the real numbers total 350,000.
