Senate speaker: A car building industry support plan may be approved next week
The measures to support the Romanian car building industry suggested by the Dacia Renault officials may be included in an anti-crisis measures lot, soon to be submitted to the Government’s analysis, said the Senate speaker, Mircea Geoana, on Thursday, after meeting the Dacia Renault labor union leaders and employers’ officials.
Geoana said that the first anti-crisis measures will be applied in the car producing industry, one of the most affected segments of the economy. The old-cars being bought back against deductible incentives for new cars acquisition, faster access to credits and professional reconversion of the personnel laid of from the industry may be some of the measures Geoana referred to, in his statements.
The Dacia factory was forced to shut down the production lines a few times during the past months, because of the fast decreasing demand.
