Romania's President Traian Basescu to talk in Brussels with EC President about Romania's priorities in 2009

Romania’s President Traian Basescu will have talks with the European Commission president, Jose Manuel Barroso at the latter’s invite. Before leaving, the president declared that the talks concern Romania’s priorities for 2009, since the new Prime Minister Emil Boc and other ministers will attend.
The subjects taken up in the discussion will relate to the economic crisis at the level of the Union and nationally, in Romania. The President declared that, other subjects on the agenda are the European funds acceleration and the new gas crisis.
Plus, Basescu stressed that Romania’s stand is clear: irrespective of the new formula of the Commission, Romania will have to be represented by a commissioner.
