Austria guarantees all banking deposits irrespective of their value

Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer announced that Austria will guarantee all banking deposits of the population, irrespective of their value. To enter into force, the decision of the Executive needs to be voted by the Parliament.

Austria’s Council of Ministers took this decision after the German’s Executive model.
