HotNews.ro

The opposition alliance of Social Democrats (PSD) and the Conservative Party (PC) would come first in the preferences of voters with 36% should general elections take place next Sunday, a new poll quoted by Antena 3 news television shows. According to the CCSB poll, the Democratic Liberals (PD-L) would come second with 34% of the vote, followed by the Liberals with 20%.

Antena 3 is owned by the family of Dan Voiculescu, the founder of the Conservative Party, a small political group who’s candidates would run along those of the PSD in elections later this fall.

According to the poll, other parties come way behind the top three and risk not entering the Parliament: Hungarian Democrats (UDMR) would get 5%, the far-right Greater Romania Party (PRM) – 3% and the New Generation Party led by populist politician-businessman Gigi Becali – 2%.
