PM Tariceanu: Romania has the largest economic growth in Europe
Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu made a report on Wednesday, presenting the results his cabinet recorded during the mandate. European Union accession, economic growth and well-being are the three targets the Government achieved, said Tariceanu during the presentation, adding that Romania is the European state with the largest GDP growth.
Tariceanu’s statements, in brief:
– We managed to double the pensions, a new pensions growth is scheduled for October 1;
– the economy is on an accelerated growth trend;
– the gross domestic product (GDP) grew 8.8%, the largest growth in Europe;
– there are no localities in Romania without at least one modernized school;
– a profound reform of the health care system has begun;
– over 95% of the 930 commitments made by the Government;
– 35 billion euro worth of investments were attracted between 2004 and 2008, double than between 1991 and 2004.
