Only 8% of Romanians graduate from high education institutions

HotNews.ro

Romania has a lot to recover in the high education area, said Paul Serban Agachi, pro-rector in the Babes-Bolyai University (UBB). „At this moment, only 8% of the Romanian labor force consists in high education graduates, compared to 20% in Europe and 30% in the United States”. The second day of the Vocational HR Congress was an opportunity for painful discussions about the Romanian education system, the behavior of employees and of large companies, the investments in personnel training and the role of training programs.

Csaba Gergely, senior manager in HR Consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers considers that the education system and the state have a major role on the labor market.

Paul Serban Agachi emphasized that 75% of the 55,000 annual graduates are immediately employed, 20% continue their studies and 5% are unaccounted for.
