Romanian military dies in Afghanistan

The troopers in the „Dragoslavele” battalion patrolling the A1 highway in Afghanistan were involved in an incident on Sunday, some 20 kilometers away from Qalat. The third armored vehicle in a row of four crossed over an improvised explosive device. One sergeant died and other four were injured.
The victim of the explosion was the 32-year old first-sergeant Dragos Traian Alexandrescu, employee of the Defense Ministry since 2003. He is the seventh victim since the Romanian mission was deployed in Afghanistan and the third this year. The toll of injured military rises to 24.
Romania currently has 760 military in Afghanistan.
