High inflation in the Euro zone: 4%, says Eurostat

HotNews.ro

The annual inflation in the Euro zone reached 4% in June, Eurostat informs. The level represents the highest rate since 1999. The previously recorded inflation rate was of 3.7% last month. An important cause was the constant increase of fuel prices which exceeded last week a symbolic level of 140 dollars per barrel. Moreover, the increase of food prices had a direct influence on causing high inflation.

The 4% level represents a rough signal for the Central European Bank whose inflation rate for the Euro zone is 2%.
