Romania Social Democrats, Conservatives signed protocol for common electoral push officially on Thursday
Social Democrats (PSD) sign today a collaboration protocol with the Conservative Party (PC) for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The decision was already announced by the two political parties a couple of days ago and the details of the protocol where have since been set up. PSD leader Mircea Geoana says that the alliance plans to win parliamentary elections, set up a new government and win next year’s presidential poll.
However, the two parties will run on separate lists in the June 2008 local elections. Moreover, the protocol is not only an electoral one but also a political one. This is why, the protocol will be legally registered in court, Romanian local television Antena 3 informs.
