Orthodox Easter brings Romania to a halt
Most Romanian institutions stay closed on Monday, April 24 as the population celebrates the second day of the Orthodox Easter. The majority of the paper media is on holiday as do most state institutions, small bank outlets and other enterprises.
Shopping opportunities are generally limited to large stores and malls.
For entertainment in Bucharest, cinema is pretty much the only option as theaters and exhibitions are closed, while clubs have not announced gigs for today. Also in the Romanian capital most restaurants and bars will be open today.
The infernal traffic of Bucharest has one of its quittest days of the year as most people celebrate Easter with families at home or out of the city.
