Steaua to face Standard Liege in preliminary phase of Champions League

Bucharest-based football team Steaua, which is yet to formally defeat Slovenian team ND Gorica, will face the Belgians of Standard Liege in the third preliminary round of the Champions League, it was decided today. Steaua defeated Gorica 2-0 in Slovenia on Wednesday and has overwhelming changes to qualify in the next round against Liege.

The first game of the third preliminary round will take place on August 8/9 and the second on August 22/23.
