A Romanian hacked the website of the anti virus producer Kaspersky and that of a BitDefender partner in Portugal
The Romanian hacker, nicknamed unu broke the website of the Russian anti virus producer Kaspersky lab and the website of a BitDefender partner in Portugal, the international press reads. Sites like PC World and C NET note that it is incredible that the hacker managed to hack the sites of anti-virus producers and Kaspersky hired an expert to investigate the issue.
Kaspersky’s research department chief Roel Schouwenberg declared that the recent events will affect the company’s image but is convinced that the Romanian hacker did not retrieve the personal information data of the company’s clients.
The hacker, nicknamed unu warned last week the company regarding the bug he found, but an hour later he hacked the website. Schouwenberg declared that a Romanian Kaspersky employee signaled the event after he saw the information published on the Romanian website, Hackers Blog. The employee alerted Kaspersky USA and in half an hour the website was secured again.
The same hacker claimed that it hacked the website of a BitDefender partner in Portugal. However, BitDefender, the Romanian anti-virus producer, announced that he does not own the web page but that it pertains to one of its partners.
