Al-Qaeda may get radioactive material from Romania

HotNews.ro

Mohammed ElBaradei, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has expressed concern about the traffic of radioactive material in Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, according to Romanian news station Realitatea TV.

In an article for an Arab newspaper quoted by Italian media, ElBaradei said that a nuclear or radioactive attack by al-Qaeda might be possible.

Hundreds of people who are attempting to practice such traffic are arrested yearly, ElBaradei said, claiming that most such cases appear in former Soviet and Eastern European countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine or Romania.
