American summer for Romanian film makers: directors Ujica, Puiu and Muntean to attend New York Film Festival

The elite New York Film Festival, which usually chooses around 30 international films each year, has scheduled three Romanian films for this year’s edition: „The autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu”, „Aurora” and „Tuesday after Christmas”. The films will run for the first time in the US on September 28 („Tuesday after Christmas”, October 3 („Aurora”) and October 9 („The autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu”).

The event will be attended by the directors of the three films – Andrei Ujica, Cristi Puiu and Radu Muntean, but also producers, actors and other staff for the three films.

The best placed in the festival selection is the „Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu”, selected in the „Special Events” category along „A letter to Elia” (2010) by Martin Scorsese and Kent Jones, „America, America” (1963) by Elia Kazan, „Nuremberg” (1948) by Stuart Schulberg, „Cameraman: The Life and Work of Jack Cardiff” (2010) by Craig McCall, „A Matter of Life and Death” (1946) by Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger, „The Hole” (2009) by Joe Dante, „Dracula” (1931) by George Melford, „Foreign Parts” (2010) by Verena Paravel & J.P. Sniadecki, as well as a selection of films by Segundo de Chomon.

„Aurora” and „Tuesday after Christmas” are included in the main selection.
