Court to rule whether Dacia employees’ general strike is legal
The local court is due to take a final decision to rule whether the general strike organized by Dacia employees is legal. According to local television Realitatea TV, some 50 union members will be present at the tribunal. Last week, the court decided to postpone a decision since union members did not have a defender.
After negotiations between Dacia Renault officials and union leaders have failed several times, the conflict awaits a judicial decision to decide the legality of the strike. Dacia’s administration announced that those employees on strike so far, will not be paid for this period.
Moreover, employees who refused to work and prefered to strike will be obliged to recover the lost working days. Dacia’s employee’s strike started on March 24 and protesters are willing to go through with it until their requests are met.
