Electoral Office hands mandates to 35 new MEPs
The Central Electoral Office handed on Friday the official representation mandates to the new 35 Romanian Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). After receiving the mandates, the 35 must also be validated by the European Parliament.
Romania will be represented in the EP by the representatives of 5 parties and the independent candidate Laszlo Tokes. After the election on Sunday, Democrats won 13 seats, Social Democrats – 10, Liberals – 6, Liberal Democrats – 3 and the Hungarians Democratic Union – 2.
