Employees at Romanian Nokia factory demand 50% salary raise
The union workers at Nokia Romania demand a 50% increase of their salaries, as well as an 1% fidelity bonus for every year of employment at the factory in the village of Jucu (Cluj county). The head of the union, Cristian Copil that negotiations with the board will begin on Monday. The average wage at Nokia Jucu is 860 RON (some 230 Euros).
Nokia Jucu employs 1,600 people, out of which 800 are union members.
The factory produces Nokia phones for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
