European Commission compels Romania to recover an illegal state aid of 27 million euro from Ford
European Commission officials opened up an investigation in October 2007 to analyze whether Romanian authorities conditioned the privatization of Automobile Craiova by a series of musts, in order to maintain a certain production level and not to fire people. On their turn, Romanian officials accepted a lower selling prices, in exchenge for having these conditions met. The European Commission ruled on Wednesday that the agreement between the two represents a state aid and therefore, it is illegal.
