European socialists: Left-wing parties governing the EU should not support candidates of other colourt

The European Socialist Party and the political office of the socialists from the European Parliament ask the socialist and social-democratic leaders governing in the EU to not support any proposal for the role of European commissioner if the candidate does not belong to the Left, a PSD report from the European Parliament reads.

The European socialists and democrats want as many commissars as possible from this political family. It is important to promote this political colour among the European Commission, since it is capital to come up with viable measures that will drive the European Union out of the economic and institutional crisis, the report goes.

The appeal of the European socialists address particularly the leftist leaders who govern or share a governance within the EU.

Romania is governed by a coalition made up by the social-democrats and the liberal democrats. They seem to have agreed on Romania’s candidate for the EU’s Agriculture portfolio: they nominated an independent candidate – Dacian Ciolos.
