Final results for Romania's overseas polls: Trian Basescu leads, followed by Antonescu and Basescu
Traian Basescu got the biggest number of votes from the Romanians overseas: 52,904. Crin Antonescu ranked 2nd, with 16,449, while Mircea Geoana came third, with 11,717 votes, a Romanian Foreign Affairs ministry indicates.
The votes from all the 294 voting sections overseas have been centralised. Here are the results:
- 95,068 Romanians voted;
- the number of valid votes is 94,383;
- there have been 675 invalid votes.
