Finance minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu about the decrease of the flat tax: we have several options, but a decision will be taken with the IMF 

Finance minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu considers the possibility to reduce the flat tax next year. He told HotNews.ro that the ministry has several options but a decision will be taken with the IMF delegation. The IMF delegation is expected in October for new evaluations. A decision to extend the agreement or sign a new one is expected to be taken at that time. About the new agreement, Ialomitianu declared that there was no decision taken so far.

A lower flat tax could be one of the measures to relaunch the economy but only in several conditions, PM’s counsellor Andreea Paul Vass declared recently. According to her, a lower flat tax would generate lower budgetary revenues which is necessary to supplement revenues in other areas.
