Four children die in Bucharest fire

Four children aged under 10 died in a fire sparked in the basement of a block of flats in the Bucharest neighborhood of Ferentari on Monday night, according to news station Realitatea TV. The fire started at about 3 a.m., apparently caused by a candle.

The children’s parents were away when the fire occurred. Bucharest police and firefighters announced an inquiry into the event this morning.
