France, condemned for limiting the free movement of Romanians and Bulgarians

HotNews.ro

The European Court of Justice condemned France on Tuesday for not introducing in due time in its national legislation all regulations regarding the free movement of Romanian and Bulgarian citizens, who are citizens of the European Union since January 1, 2007, AFP informs.

More precisely, French authorities failed to adopt regulations that allow Romanian and Bulgarian citizens with liberal professions – lawyers, doctors etc – to reside and exercise their activity on French territory. The ECJ ruled that France failed to comply to EU regulations and thus was compelled to pay all trial expenses. Moreover, France needs to urgently adopt the regulations.
