INSOMAR survey: Democrat Liberals, Social Democrats and Liberals to enter the Parliament if elections would be held next week

The only parties to enter the Parliament if elections would be held next week are Democrat Liberals (PD-L) with 38%, Social Democrats (PSD) with 26% and Liberals with 16%, an Insomar poll reveals quoted by Romanian news television Realitatea TV. The other parties would not be able to assure the necessary 5% threshold.

Hungarian Democrats, the party that’s always been in the Parliament and the Greater Romania Party will not be part of the Parliamentary game any longer. If Presidential elections would be held, Traian Basescu would get 58% of the votes, followed by Sorin Oprescu current Bucharest Mayor with 12% and former Social Democratic leader Adrian Nastase with 11%.

Moreover, 23% of the respondents declared that they would elect PD-L MEP Theodor Stolojan as Prime Minister. Current PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu received the support of 19% of those surveyed while PSD party leader Mircea Geoana 17%.

Romania’s President, Traian Basescu is still most trusted politican with 49%. He is followed by Theodor Stolojan with 33% and Calin Popescu Tariceanu with 26%.
