International media on Romanians booing Madonna
Thousands of fans booed Madonna when she spoke against discrimination of the Rrroma people in Eastern Europe during a concert in Bucharest on Wednesday night, an incident which was noted by international media. Sky News reports that while many of the 60,000 fans disapproved of her appeal by booing her, Madonna did not react.
Sky News also reports that Rroma people in Romania are the most socially and economically disadvantaged minority.
For its part, Examiner.com reports the incident and also about death threats the star received in Serbia and about Bulgarian church officials showing their disapproval with her show, which is due to take place in Bulgaria on Saturday, John the Baptist Day.
