Ireland 20th EU member to approve Romania accession treaty

The Senate of Ireland approved the law for the ratification of the EU Accession Treaty of Romania and Bulgaria on Wendesday, shortly after the document was passed in the House of Deputies on June 13, the Romanian EU Integration Ministry has announced.

According to the Romanian ministry, the law was passed by consensus and not by vote, which in Ireland is used only in the case of controversial laws.
