Justice Minister wants Munaf judged in Romania

Romanian Justice Minister, Monica Macovei, asked the US Justice Department chief, Alberto Gonzales, his support to bring Mohammad Munaf to hearings in Romania, before being transferred to the Iraqi authorities.

Munaf, a Romanian – American – Iraqi citizen involved in the kidnapping of three Romanian journalists in Iraq, was sentenced to death by hanging in October by the Baghdad Criminal Court.
