HotNews.ro

Former Polish President Lech Kaczynski is about to be buried next to the most respected kings and military leaders of the nation, after a decision that divided the national unity surrounding the tragic death of the Polish leader, The Wall Street Journal reads.

Kaczynski and his wife, Maria, will be buried in Wawel castle, in Krakow, South Poland where they will rest next to the heroes of the nation – nine kings and many more military leaders. Their bodies will be laid nearby the grave of Jozef Pilsudski, considered a giant of the modern Polish history, the first head of the independent nation after 1918.

However, the decision split Poland’s public opinion, apparently united after the tragic airplane crash on Saturday morning, where the head of state lost his life. Does he deserve to rest among the kings? a banner read on Tuesday nearby the castle.

He wasn’t a father of the nation, Jan Hartmen, Ethics Professor at Krakow University who said that the decision was political.
