Prosecutor general demands approval to open criminal inquiry against former PM Nastase and Govt. official Serban Mihailescu
Romania prosecutor general, Codruta Kovesi, asked the House of Deputies to issue a formal answer to the request to open a criminal inquiry against former Prime Minister Adrian Nastase and Senator Serban Mihailescu, former Government Secretary General, Realitatea TV informs.
Nastase is accused of offering bribe in the „Aunt Tamara” case, while Mihailescu is accused of accepting unfair advantages and of breaking the ammo and weapons regime.
Nastase is accused of offering the office of head of the Anti Money Laundering Department in the Police to Melinescu Ioan, demanding in exchange for an investigation to be ceased and the results put at his disposal. The investigation referred to the Prime Minister’s wife, Dana Nastase.
Serban Mihailescu is accused of accepting hunting rifles, which he owned in 2002, although he didn’t have a proper license.
