Renault inaugurates a new gear factory at Mioveni, South Romania
Renault Mecanique Romania, the factory which will produce gears for Renault Nissan will be officially opened in Mioveni, South Romania on May 13. Dacia representatives said that information about investments and production would be discussed at the ceremony.
Renault had announced in 2005 that by 2008 it would invest some 215 million euro in gear factory for the Renault Nissan models. The factory will function on the industrial plaform of Mioveni. French officials declared that the factory would produce some 2000 units per day and will export them.
Moreover, the company will employ some 650 people: 550 operators and 100 engineers. The producer allocated some 28 million euro for the project in 2006 and added other 66 million euro last year.
