Romania, in world top 10 for broadband speed and information attacks
Romania ranked 5th for broadband speed – 8.8 Mbps – and 9th for information attacks in an Akmai world traffic statistics, one of the world’s biggest Web content services distributors.
The research is valid for the first 2009 trimester. Romania took the 5th position for internet services transfer medium speed broadband: 5.8 Mbps, following South Korea (11 Mbps), Japan (8 Mbps), Hong Kong (7.6) and Sweden (6.9). Romania saw a 51% increase in the annual medium speed, and a 3.1% increase against the last 2008 trimester.
Akamayi surveillance report, Romania is also listed in top ten regarding the informational attacks. More precisely, Romania ranks world 9th position. 1.83% of the world informational attacks take place on the Romanian virtual geography.
