Romania urges public authorities in the Republic of Moldova to stop abuses against Romanian citizens, Romania’s Foreign Affairs minister, Cristian Diaconescu declared. He underlined that he urged his Moldavian counterparts through official diplomatic ways to offer some reasons as to why some 200 Romanian citizens were denied visas.

Diaconescu said that there was no official response which is why Diaconescu publicly urges his Moldavian counterparts to stop abuses. Diaconescu expressed his dissatisfaction to the way Moldavia’s saw fit to react and disobey EU norms by infringing the right to free circulation.

Diaconescu explained that Romania will continue to support the Republic of Moldova to join the European Union but the country needs to become a credible partner and assume not only benefits but also obligations assumed.
