Romanian doctor, suspended in UK for naming her Asian colleagues orangutans
Romanian doctor was suspended by the General Medical Council in the UK for naming her Asian colleagues orangutans, DailyMail reads. Dr. Silvia Baciu declared that she made the injurious comments after she was insulted and verbally abused for being a white European.
NHS Trust accused Dr Silvia Baciu of racism and the medical council criticized her attitude as unacceptable. Baciu, aged 43, worked in Bassildon hospital, in Essex in June 2004- November 2005. After leaving the hospital, she requested a meeting with NHS Trust to present the evidence against her discrimination.
Dr Silvia Baciu was suspended for six months and the council recommended to take up a multicultural diversity course.
