Romanian hackers stripped foreign companies of over 150 million dollars in 2008 alone
Romanian hackers stripped foreign companies of over 150 million dollars in 2008 alone, Romania’s Police representatives declared quoted by Romanian news television Realitatea TV. Romania’s secret service representatives declared that this sum represents only half of the total damages caused.
Inside sources declared that currently, Romanian hackers are among most feared in the world and IT crimes were redefined. According to a statistic published by the Romanian news agency NewsIn, in the first six months of the year, some 436 crimes were committed by Romanian hackers over the internet.
Accordingly, some 365 people are investigated. Because IT crimes unfolded without a precedent in the last years, Romania’s Police Forces reorganized and created four specialized units for IT crimes alone. Moreover, Romanians are in constant contact with their American and European counterparts.
