Romanian PM Tariceanu: 70% of all Romania's trade is within the EU. Romania can't avoid being affected by the crisis
Over 70% of all commercial exchanges Romania has is represented by trade within the European Union. As consequence, Romania can’t avoid being affected by the international financial crisis, said Romania prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu in a press conference on Tuesday
The main statements made by Tariceanu, in brief:
– We must ask ourselves what will happen next year in Romania;
– The crisis effects showed up late in Romania, economy segments will be affected according to their degree of connection with the EU economies;
– Romania has a 9% economic growth in the third quarter of the year, but measures must be taken in 2009;
– The Government already has an anti-crisis plan, I will not wait for January 1 to apply it;
– The social contributions decreased 10% and I still want to lower taxes.
