Romanian PM Tariceanu: I have the same stand as President Traian Basescu on the car tax

The first anti-crisis measures will be discussed and approved on Wednesday, Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced. He added that he will not wait for 2009 to launch the set of measures. Moreover, he also referred to President Basescu’s discourse who urged the government to suspend the first car registration tax to support Dacia, Romania’s traditional car factory. Tariceanu said that he takes the same stand on the issue.

PM Tariceanu called President Basescu to talk about a new emergency ordinance on the first car registration tax. President Basescu proposed four measures to be taken by the Executive in order to support Dacia factories.

PM Tariceanu urged ministers to prepare normative acts to launch the implementation of of the anti-crisis measures. The executive set up a measures plan that rules the allocation of minimum 10 billion euro in the first four years for investments in the economy. Another 220 million euro are allocated for social housing constructions.
