Romania's consulate to Cyprus shut down temporary by the swine flu

HotNews.ro

Romania’s Consulate to Cyprus is temporary closed, until July 20, as its personnel contacted the A/H1N1 virus, Romania’s Foreign Affairs ministry informs on Tuesday. The measure was taken to prevent the contamination of citizens requesting consular services and allow the personnel to receive specialized treatment.

Until the consulate will resume its activity, citizens that require its services can address the Athens and Thessaloniki consulates. Romania’s Foreign Affairs ministry took a series of measures to improve access to the two Greek consulates.

Currently, all seven people are undergoing specialized treatment and are under medical supervision, including Romania’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Andreea Pastarnac. The patients are stable at the moment.

Romania’s Foreign Affairs ministry will send 12 tamiflu shots, allocated by the Romanian Health ministry which will treat all contaminated persons and will prevent the spread of the virus. The ministry appeals to all Romanian citizens who visited the consulate in the last days to cater for their health and contact a doctor as soon as they discover the first flu symptoms.
