Romania's current account deficit continued to increase to 4.07 billion euro after 8 months

Romania’s current account deficit of the balance of payments increased in the first eight months with 48.7% compared to the similar period, last year, to 4.07 billion euro, Romanian National Central Bank data reveals. In January – August 2009, the current account deficit was 2.74 billion euro.
The current account deficit started to increase after the first two months of the year. Romania’s external debt reached 87.76 billion euro, a 9.2% increase compared to last year.
