Romania's House of Deputies decided that Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea will not be investigated
Romania’s House of Deputies, rejected on Wednesday the anti-graft prosecutors’ requests to approve the investigation of former Romanian PM Adrian Nastase and former Transports minister Miron Mitrea, inside sources declared for HotNews.ro.
Deputies were summoned to meet in an extraordinary session in order to vote on the controvercial files which have been postponed for a considerable time now. Thus, there were 276 deputies present and 120 of them voted for the approval of the investigation of Adrian Nastase and 160 voted for the approval of Miron Mitrea’s file.
However, some 218 votes were needed in order to officially approve the investigation. The result of the votes reveal that those political parties which initially declared that they will vote for now voted against the investigation.
Adrian Nastase was present at the meeting while Miron Mitrea was absent.
