Romania's National Central Bank decreased its key interest rate to 6.25%

Romania’s National Central Bank decided on Tuesday to decrease its monetary policy interest by 0.25 percentage points at 6.25% per year, a press release of the central bank reads. Moreover, the Bank decided to maintain the mandatory minimum reserves to 15% for accounts in lei and 25% for accounts in foreign currency.

The decrease was anticipated by analysts prompted by Hotnews.ro. They estimated that the central bank might take such a decision.
