Russia shut down gas transit to or through Ukraine. Romanian Economy minister Videanu: we have enough resources to get through the winter
Russia completely shut down gas transit destined to Europe, Naftogaz spokesperson informed on Wednesday morning, quoted by AFP. Gazprom director will meet on Thursday with his Ukrainian counterpart to discuss a new delivery agreement, Ria Novosti informs.
Economy minister Adriean Videanu declared for Realitatea TV that the population will not be affected and resources will be enough for this winter. Videanu declared that the Mediesul Aurit gas entry point will also be shut down.
Russian gas deliveries to Romania through Isaccea were stopped on Monday night at 3 am. Both PM Emil Boc and Economy minister Adriean Videanu declared on Tuesday that the population will not feel the crisis.
Videanu declared that Romania’s internal resources will last for about 6 months and there is no need to worry. At his turn, energy analyst declared for HotNews.ro that due to gas reserves and local production, Romania shouldn’t face any problems for the next 2 to 3 months.
